Business School - Cultivate Competencies, Boost Talent

Credit Suisse offers employees the opportunity to learn and develop on a continuous basis because the systematic development of talent is key to the bank's long-term success.

The Business School, which was established in 2004, combines a passion for learning with the long term objectives of the bank to help accelerate the growth of Credit Suisse. The Business School focuses on strategically relevant topics and specific skills and qualifications that are required in the course of the bank's daily operations. Its offering includes specialist and leadership training for employees and managers, thus ensuring the constant transfer of knowledge and promoting personal development.

Qualified experts share their expertise with bank employees. This dialog with leading figures from the bank, and the opportunities for employees to create networks with colleagues throughout the world, ensure that Credit Suisse has access to a team of highly qualified professionals with the very latest expertise – benefiting both the bank and its clients.

Effective knowledge transfer

The Business School has established Centers of Competence (CoC) to promote the transfer of knowledge and networking, as well as strengthening crossdivisional cooperation, which is the main pillar of our integrated business model.

Credit Suisse uses a global objectives and appraisal process. Together with their managers, employees define individual targets relating to their contribution to the Bank’s performance and the development of their skills, which take the form of personal and business objectives.

Occupy key positions accurately

Human Capital Management is also concerned with succession planning for key positions, determining the potential of our employees and prioritizing their participation in key development programs. Promotions are governed by global standards and Credit Suisse employs a bankwide process to evaluate all candidates being considered for promotion to the most senior management level.

The Business School's main locations: are Zurich, Geneva, Lugano, London, New York, Singapore and Hong Kong. The Business School has received a number of awards in recognition of its range of courses and the quality of its offering. For example, in 2005 it received the CLIP (Corporate Learning Improvement Process) Award from the European Foundation for Management Development. In the same year, it became the first company ever to be accredited by the "Institute of Banking and Finance" in Singapore.
